To implement our Professional Growth Plan we will keep to
state standards,  while at the same time take steps to incorporate a
more hands-on and collaborative styles of teaching in our curriculum.
We also feel that more outside resources will allow us to enhance
student learning. We believe that this approach will have a very
positive impact on our students’ performance.

As teachers we must be both facilitator and Manager. We will
facilitate by introducing a curriculum that is learner friendly for all
students’ regardless of their abilities and at the same time manage
multiple personalities inside the classroom. We will need to learn how
to facilitate and manage by observing other teachers, seeking new
ways, and trying new strategies that will further develop our skills as
an educator.

We instructed many different course subjects while doing our
student teaching. We have taught language arts, math, reading, social
studies and science. We found this to be very challenging. We had to
develop different forms of preparations. Although, we were able to
meet the challenges, in the future we will work on developing better
organization skills to increase the level of success in this area. We will
collaborate with other educators and seek advice on how to better
develop our system so that we can get the most from our students,
while at the same time perfecting our teaching skills.

During our teaching experience we notice that it sometimes
becomes a challenge for some students to stay focus and participate
in their learning. We will work hard to create a more engaging
curriculum and classroom environment. We will do this by creating
class activities that are structured around more student involvement.
We will create a physical environment that generates excitements
and the curiosity to want to learn more. Using bright color and
displaying bulletin boards, and models that are related to the unit of
study will do this. We will engage students by seeking their input in
all aspects from classroom design to design of the lesson plans.

Computer Literacy is rapidly becoming a means of support for
learning in the classroom and also outside of the classroom in the real-
world environment. Computer skills can provide a meaningful
learning experience for all students. Schools that help students to
capitalize on the relationship between technology and education will
help students to develop higher thinking order skills, and to function
effectively in the world beyond the classroom. As  teachers we will
strive to see that all student have every opportunity to develop
effective technological skills. We will do this by making sure that our
curriculum incorporates the use of technology in our daily lesson
plans. We will also include special projects for students that can only
be done with the assistance of technology. We will create an after
school computer club as a program designed to teach students how to
develop and master computer skills, while at the same time
developing leadership skills.

Our main concern is to assure that students learn what they
need academically so that they will be better prepared to meet life’s
daily challenges. Students expect guidance and leadership from
teacher. After respect is earned a friendly relationship can be
established with precautions.
